The Village Building Inspector is responsible for ensuring that buildings and structures within the Village are up to code. Our department is responsible for the administration of the NYS Building Code, NYS Fire Prevention Code, the NYS Housing Code and the NYS Energy Code, the Planning and Zoning regulations, the Federal Flood Plain Regulations and various other local laws assigned to the Building Inspector for administration and enforcement by the Town Board.

Our department is responsible for the following duties:

• Building permit issuance
• Clerical and technical support to the Board of Review
• Enforcement of the following codes and ordinances:

  • Regulations that protect the handicapped and the disabled
  • Zoning Ordinance
