What do you do with a broken lamp? Or a chair that has a wobbly leg? Or a sweater or teddy bear with a hole? Toss it? No way! The Village of Castleton-on-Hudson hosts Repair Café at the Village Hall, 85 South Main Street, on the second Saturday of the month (October-May) from 11 AM to 3 PM, and during the Summer, on the Friday before the second Saturday of the month (June-September) from 4:30-7:30 PM at the Castleton-on-Hudson Farmers and Artisans Market (COHFAM) @ corner of Scott Avenue (150) and Main Street (9J). We skip an occasional month or make a schedule adjustment; in December 2019, Repair Cafe will be at the inaugural COHFAM Winterfest on Friday, December 13 (4:30-7:30 PM) at the Castleton Fire Department, 11 Green Avenue, and we are skipping January 2020. People visiting the Repair Café, bring along their broken but beloved items, and volunteers try their best to make repairs, and it’s free of charge! Watch the homepage, Village's Facebook page, the Advertiser and Our Towne for upcoming dates.
